New happenings in the world of indici | Newsletter update, 9 August 2017

Welcome to indici, Hauraki Plains Health Centre
This week our first rural location, Hauraki Plains Health Centre in Ngatea went live with indici! This is a significant achievement and we are truly grateful to the team at the practice for their support and tenacity in getting this done – and we can happily report despite a couple of wee wobbles in general it’s going well.

Hauraki Plains is our fourth location, and the first “new” one for quite some time. We’re still learning lessons from the go-live process and we’ll be using our experience to improve the process for the next practice.

A busy weekend for indici
Over the last weekend in July the indici team was very busy at two significant events, the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners’ college conference and exhibition, and a weekend of training for the next practice to go live in Taupo.

RNZCGP College Conference
The RNZCGP college conference exhibition was held in Dunedin’s Town Hall and we saw loads of interest from South Island based doctors. It was exciting for us to note the tone of the questions has changed from “what is indici?” to “when will you be coming to our area?”

From the perspective of health information systems, we had a number of conversations with complementary and even competitive systems vendors around the topic of promoting interoperability and shared use of clinical information.

A view of the exhibition area while the delegates were in conference sessions, with John, Javad and Nikki at the stand, giving detailed demos to representatives of ACC and GP Docs respectively.

Training for Taupo Medical Centre
On 29-30 July we held the first of two, two-day weekend training sessions for the team at Taupo Medical, which is the next practice lined up for indici. By the end of the next session we will have trained close to 50 staff in Taupo!

We really appreciate the team at Taupo Med giving up their weekends in the interests of getting up to speed with indici ahead of the changeover later this month.
